I am so excited to be the new Executive Director for the Sagebrush Classic, a 22-year rold golf and culinary event here in Bend, Oregon. In past years, the Sagebrush Classic event has entertained the masses (over 1,000 people each year!) and hosted the best culinary experience around.
For 2011, the Sagebrush Classic will head in a new direction. It will expand it's outreach in the community to include ALL nonprofit organizations in Central Oregon vs. the RFP Application Process of years past. With a 6-month fundraising campaign, nonprofits now will raise funds in the community and beyond, while Sagebrush simultaneously raises funds for a 'match grant'.
On January 11, 2011, nonprofits in our area can register to be a part of the Sagebrush weekend, which will now consist of:
Sagebrush Golf Tournament (to benefit Deschutes Children's Foundation)
Sagebrush Private Dinners (proceeds go towards the match grant)
Sagebrush Community Challenge (proceeds go towards the match grant)
Sagebrush Feast (proceeds go towards the match grant)
On February 15, 2011, nonprofits and sponsors will come together to launch the 6-month fundraising campaign and will be given tools to raise funds in our community.
On the weekend of July 15-16, 2011, the Sagebrush events will commence and fundraising will continue until mid-August.
On August 30, 2010, all of the nonprofits that have partnered with Sagebrush will receive the money they raised in the community, as well as a portion of the match grant (to be split b/t the nonprofits).
For more information, please feel free to call me anytime! I love talking about this event, I love sharing the vision and hope for the community to raise smarter and more effectively, and I love that I have the chance to partner with Deschutes Brewery and Sagebrush on this amazing event!

Craig Johnson, I'll miss you.

It is with such a heavy heart that I upload these pictures of Craig Johnson. I just learned a few days ago that Craig passed away last week from a stroke and truthfully my heart is broken. I have worked with Craig (and his wife Pam, shown in pictures above) numerous times over the years...from their wedding in Jackson Hole, reception in Napa Valley, and then with the New Venture Club again in Jackson Hole just a few years ago. Craig was one of those clients that you just love, really love and appreciate...and my heart breaks for his family as I hear of this news and am stunned and saddened beyond words.
Craig was not only an amazing client, but an incredibly nice guy...and a great business man too! He helped companies such as Yahoo and Garage.com come to fruition, lending his amazing talents and insight into the social media industry...he was a pioneer. You wouldn't have known how amazingly successful he was by meeting him...he was THAT down-to-earth. He was generous beyond words, putting me and my husband up in one of the most beautiful hotels in San Francisco and then taking care of immenities beyond our dreams in Napa Valley--bike rides, spa treatments, wine cask dinners, croquet, and fabulous wine tasting seminars. Later I'd jump off a perfectly good mountain in Jackson Hole (Rendezvous Peak, 10,500 ft. elevation) paragliding with members of the New Venture Club while planning their amazing weekend retreat...with Craig and Tim Koogle (Yahoo) essentially doing the pushing! (I had just shown up to take a few pics...what on earth!?!?!?!).
I am going to miss Craig Johnson and will be praying for his family, friends and colleagues that no doubtably miss him beyond words right now.
God bless,
Aimee

Mill Quarter Block Party
Bend Event Co. has been working on an amazing event that takes place July 14th from 4-8pm. There are over 35 businesses in the Mill Quarter, each unique and inspiring! When walking around the Mill Quarter Design Distric there is such a great sense of community in the air as everyone seems to know one another...perhaps it's from spending time in front of each other's storefronts chit chatting and drinking a cup of Strictly Organic coffee! I've been working with Casey Kaiser of Community First, Noelle of Furnish, Graham Hausler of Atlas Smart Homes, Elise Franklin of Bend Radio Group & Amy Holbrook of HD Architecture...all amazingly talented and fun people to be around! Many businesses in the Mill Quarter will be having music, food & libation that you won't want to miss out on! I'll be sure to keep you informed!

"A Toast to Rock 'n Roll" for The Center Foundation

I personally love everything The Center does, as I have been a patient of Dr. Swift's for a while now (car accident, 2006). What a huge blessing it was to give back...helping with their annual Gala and also being in their ad campaign, "I am strong, again" http://www.thecenteroregon.com/
"Private Dinners in the Desert" hosted by van den Berg's

This was an amazing summer evening as Jody Denton prepared a 7 course meal in a spectacular setting in The Highlands at Broken Top. Money was raised for KIDS Center, to help end child abuse in Central Oregon. http://www.kidscenter.org/
